Budget Development
As we prepare for the the upcoming fiscal year's Budget, we strive to balance the needs and requests of all Bedford County Citizens with our obligation to keep the tax rate reasonable, provide quality services and meet mandated expenses.
During this process, we post the working papers (i.e. spreadsheets, etc.) for citizen review and comment. These documents may also be accessed in the County Administration office and at the County's Public Libraries. Comments can also be submitted on the Citizen Comment Form by using the link on the right.
The budget season begins early in the year and a public hearing is generally held in April with the budget adopted shortly thereafter. As the Board of Supervisors works on the budget, we hold several Budget Work Sessions which are open to the public. To view the dates of these meetings, please click on the Calendar of Events link to the right.
