The GIS site will be undergoing maintenance on Friday evening, May 15. Beginning at 5:15, you may experience interruptions on the site, or the site will be unavailable, for several hours. Please contact the GIS Department at 540.587.5677 with any questions.
The public GIS website is an interactive map which allows residents and professionals to view many layers of information, including tax, assessment, zoning , utilities, school, political, topography, and public safety.
This new GIS site incorporates information from both Bedford County and the Town of Bedford, and replaces each of these localities' earlier GIS sites.
The user will immediately notice a modern, more aesthetically pleasing map interface. The site has more user friendly searches, detailed property and assessment information, enhanced reporting and printing capabilities, more intuitive map navigation, and improved site performance. The site will also be updated much more frequently than the quarterly data updates with the older site.
The new site contains extensive documentation, as well as several short Help videos, to assist the user with the functionality of the new site.
Best of all, the new site works with any web browser! If you are using Internet Explorer, the site works best at IE 8 or above.
If you have any questions concerning the new GIS please contact GIS staff at firstname.lastname@example.org, or at 587.5677 or 587.5678.
