What's the difference between an Internship and an Apprenticeship?
An Intern is taking a course of study on the college or high school level to become qualified to do a specific job. Part of the training involves on-the-job experience with local employers on a paid or unpaid basis.
An Apprentice is part of a state sponsored program that pairs a student with a "skilled master" of an art, craft or trade for a training period that can last several years. Apprentices are paid for their work and receive a recognized certification at the successful conclusion of their training period.
